Ames test

The Ames test is an assay to determine the ability of a chemical or drug to induce mutations in DNA. This test is based on the idea that DNA is chemically equal in different living organisms and hence, bacteria can be used to identify potential human carcinogens in a more efficient manner.3 This assay can be modelled in silico by using structure activity relationships and quantitative structure activity relationships.2

In the predicted ADMET features found in DrugBank, the Ames test result is generated using the prediction software admetSAR 1 and the terms found in the table on the drug card should be considered as follows:

Value - it can be presented by  " AMES toxic " or " Non AMES toxic " indicating a yes or no relationship for the predicted property.
Probability - it presents a number between 0-1 and it indicates the certainty of the value describing the ADMET property of this drug based on the prediction software. 

For example, "there is a 70.03% probability that the drug X is negative for the AMES test based on the prediction of admetSAR software".
